2010 HORIZONTAL GRANDEUR CALENDAR OF EVENTS
Call for Artists Opens: January 15, 2010 Image submission deadline: April 23, 2010
Selection Notification: Week of May 24th, 2010
Artwork Delivery Deadline: June 25th, 2010
Exhibition Dates: July 9th to October 29th, 2010
Opening Reception: July 9th, 6:30 p.m.
Pick-up date: November 1, 2010, 9am - 5pm
Prepaid Returns: Week of November 1, 2010

ELIGIBILITY - Open to all artists residing in states or provinces with a prairie. All pieces must have a prairie related theme and be original to the artist. Pieces deemed not original to the artist will be removed. Email grandeur@stevenshistorymuseum.com or call 320-589-1719 for questions or clarification. MEDIA - Recent painting, drawings, photographs, fiber, hand-pulled prints, fired clay or sculpture.

CONDITION AND SIZE - Oil paintings must be fully dry and framed. Drawings, prints, photography and watercolors must be framed and under glass. 2-D pieces must be ready to hang, including wires. ID labels must be attached to the back upper left hand corner of each work or wherever feasible on sculptures. 2-D pieces must not exceed 240 inches, frame included. Sculptures must not weigh more than 100 pounds or exceed 4 feet in either direction.

ENTRY FEES & SALES - The entry fee is $5.00 for each piece to be juried. Sales will be handled through the SCHS gift shop. A 30% commission will be collected for all pieces sold as a result of the exhibition.

WAIVER, LIABILITY AND INSURANCE - Artists must make their own arrangements for insuring their pieces if they wish. Return freight costs and scheduling is the responsibility of the artist. Reasonable care will be taken in the handling and display of works. No responsibility is assumed by the Stevens County Historical Society (SCHS) for loss or damage of any kind. Submission of work indicates acceptance of this policy and it is agreed that digital or photographic images may be used for publicity purposes by SCHS, including on the SCHS website.
