11th Annual Horizontal Grandeur Juried Fine Arts Exhibition
We are proud to announce the 11th Horizontal Grandeur Annual Juried Fine Art Exhibition. The exhibit will run from June 21 – October 26, 2018. Any artist residing in a US state or Canadian province with a prairie can enter up to six original pieces. All genres will be considered, from painting to photography to sculpture – anything inspired by the prairie and made by you! Along with our People’s Choice Award, we also have Artist’s Choice Award, allowing the artists in the show to vote for their favorite!

Instructions for Submissions
Each entry must include:
Title of Piece
Clear JPEG of your piece
All entries must be received by end of day May 8, 2018
Open to ALL artists of all ages residing in the United States or Canadian provinces with a prairie.
All pieces must have a prairie related theme and be original to the artist.
Pieces deemed not original to the artist will be removed. There is no time requirement as to when a piece was created.

MEDIA & GENRE
Paintings, drawings, photographs, fiber, hand-pulled prints, fired clay, mixed media, sculpture, etc.
All genres will be considered and non-landscape work is encouraged.
CONDITION AND SIZE
Oil paintings must be fully dry and framed. Drawings, prints, photography and watercolors must be framed and under glass. (Canvases exempt) 2-D pieces must be ready to hang, including wires. ID labels must be attached to the back upper left hand corner of each work or wherever feasible on sculptures. 2-D pieces must not exceed 240 inches (overall perimeter measurement), frame included. Sculptures must not weigh more than 100 pounds or exceed 4 feet in either direction. (If your piece exceeds these guidelines, please contact us to discuss.)

Selection Notification: by May 18, 2018
Artwork Delivery Deadline: No later than June 8, 2018
Opening Reception: June 21, 2018
Exhibition Dates: June 21, 2018 – October 26, 2018
Pick-up week: October 29 – November 2, 2018 (business hours 9am-4pm)
ENTRY FEES & SALES
The entry fee is $5.00 for each piece to be juried, with a maximum of six entries.
Sales will be handled through the SCHS gift shop and a 30% commission collected for all pieces sold as a result of the exhibition. All scheduling, freight costs and pick-up charges will be the responsibility of the artist.
LIABILITY AND INSURANCE
Artists must make their own arrangements for insuring their pieces if they wish. Return freight costs and scheduling of delivery and pickups according to the exhibit calendar is the responsibility of the artist.
