Become a Volunteer

The Stevens County Historical Society would not exist without our faithful volunteers. SCHS offers the choice of long term, short term, and seasonal volunteer opportunities in all aspects of our organization. Volunteers help Make History Come Alive for our diverse audience. 

Current volunteer activities include:

Collection Care

• Scanning & indexing photo collection
• Cemetery Project updates
• Stevens County newspaper indexing
• Transcribing archival records

Research Projects

• Genealogical/Family history research requests
• Topical history research requests

Membership & Guest Services

• Help with newsletter mailings
• Answering phones
• Greeting guests and giving tours
• Holiday Open House preparation
• Piano playing at events

High Tea Committee

• Plan menu and decor that corresponds with current event
• Preparing and serving food at events
• Set-up/clean up at events
